Leigh Village Hall Opening Ceremony

During the past 18 months Camera Club members Linda, Betty and Gillian have been photographing the construction of the new Leigh Village Hall. This project, together with our photographic record of the old village hall (soon to be demolished) will be the subject of our Camera Club meeting on 9 December.

The new village hall was opened on Saturday, 15 November and Gillian and Betty were there to record the opening ceremony.

Several hundred people, including all the local Great and Good, encircled the ribboned-off area armed with pairs of scissors.  At the command of the Bishop (that’s him with the megaphone) they all simulaneously cut the ribbon and univerally declared the hall open.

Champagne and cake then followed as people trooped in to inspect their new hall. Here are some of our happy snappies:
